Setting your social share preview in Wix

Wix generates Open Graph tags automatically and gives you a per-page panel to control the social preview. No coding needed — you just have to know where it is, because the panel is well hidden.

Want to see how your page looks right now?

The free checker shows your previews for nine platforms — from X and WhatsApp to iMessage, Discord and Bluesky.

Check your URL

Open the page SEO settings

In the editor click Pages, pick the page, click the three dots → SEO basics (or "SEO settings").

Go to the Social share tab

Next to the search engine settings there is a tab for social media. That is where you set the title, description and image platforms show when the page is shared.

Upload a 1200×630 image

Use the recommended 1.91:1 ratio. Wix shows a preview, but it is indicative — the real crop differs per platform.

Check the live page

Publish and paste the URL into the MetaPeek checker. You see the actual preview per platform and whether all tags are present.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add custom meta tags in Wix?

Yes, via SEO settings → additional tags you can add custom meta tags, but for Open Graph the built-in social share panel is almost always enough.

Why does WhatsApp show no image for my Wix link?

Usually: the image is too large (keep it under ~600 KB) or the page just changed and the cache is stale. Check with MetaPeek that the og:image tag exists and is reachable.

Changed your tags? Verify the result.

Paste your URL and see within two seconds whether everything is right — on every platform.
